Jesus,
Your words here are full of mystery and life. You speak not in riddles, but in love that is deeper than what our minds can grasp. When you say, “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you,” you are inviting me to something more than just belief. You are inviting me into union with you—into closeness, into a deep friendship where your life becomes mine.
You don’t want to stay far away. You want to come so close that you enter into the very core of who I am. You want to feed my soul. You want to become my strength, my peace, my joy from within. Just like food nourishes the body, you want your love, your presence, your Spirit to nourish my heart. This is not just about bread and wine. This is about becoming one with you—heart to heart.
And when I come to you, when I receive you with trust and quiet love, something in me changes. Slowly, gently, I begin to live more like you. I begin to listen more like you. I begin to love more like you. It’s not about effort or pressure. It’s about receiving your life as a gift, every day. It’s about saying “yes” to your invitation: “Let me live in you.”
Jesus, help me to remember that you are not far away. You are as close as my breath. You are not asking me to be perfect, but to be open. To let you in. To trust that in receiving you, I will be made whole.
Stay with me, Lord. Feed me with your life. Teach me to walk like you, love like you, and rest in the quiet joy of simply being yours. Amen.
