Rooted in Truth, Unshaken by Rejection

Beloved Jesus,

You walked into the synagogue, stood before your people, and spoke the truth. They marveled at first, but then their hearts changed. How strange it is, Lord, that those who knew You best could not see who You truly were! They had seen You grow, heard Your laughter, watched You work with Joseph. And so, when You spoke with authority, they could not believe it. How could greatness rise from among them?

But You did not bend to their doubt. You did not seek to prove Yourself. You simply spoke the truth and let it be. And when they rejected You, when they pushed You to the edge of the cliff, You walked away—not in anger, not in defeat, but with the quiet strength of someone who belongs to the Father alone.

Oh Jesus, how often do I long for acceptance, for understanding, for people to see what is in my heart? But You show me another way. You teach me that truth is not measured by applause, nor is love diminished by rejection. You remind me that my worth is not in being recognized, but in standing firm in who I am before God.

Help me, Lord, to live as You lived: to speak truth without fear, to love without needing to be loved in return, to walk away from rejection without bitterness. Let me be anchored, not in the changing opinions of the world, but in the steady gaze of the Father.

And when the road leads to the edge of a cliff, may I remember – You walked this path first. And You walked on. So will I.

Amen.
