Luke 6:36-38
Jesus, you ask me to be kind and forgiving, just like God. You have always been patient with me. When I make mistakes, you do not push me away. You help me start again. You never remind me of my past failures. You only want me to grow in love.
You tell me not to judge. But many times, I look at others and make quick judgments about them. I do not know their struggles. I do not know their pain. You remind me to be kind because I also want others to be kind to me.
You tell me to forgive. Sometimes, when I feel hurt, I do not want to let go of my anger. But keeping anger in my heart only makes me unhappy. You show me that forgiveness brings peace. You have forgiven me so many times. You ask me to do the same for others.
You tell me to give – not only money or things but also my time, my kindness, and my love. A smile, a helping hand, a gentle word – these small things can bring joy to others. And when I give with a happy heart, I receive even more in return.
Jesus, I want to love like you. When I feel like judging, help me to understand. When I feel hurt, help me to forgive. When I feel selfish, help me to be generous.
You love me every day. Help me to love like you.
