The Courage to Love

Jesus, You know my desires, my struggles, my longing to love well. You call me not just to follow rules but to live in the freedom of love. A love that goes beyond what is expected. A love that reflects Your own.

You speak about anger, and I know how easily it creeps into my heart. Sometimes in small ways, sometimes in ways that build walls between me and others. But You, Jesus, are always about healing. You do not want me to carry burdens of resentment. You want me to be free, to love without hesitation.

You say, “Leave your gift at the altar and go be reconciled.” How precious love must be to You that You ask me to pause even my prayer to make peace! You want me to come to You with a heart that is light, a heart that is open, a heart ready to receive and to give.

Jesus, soften my heart. Teach me to let go of hurts quickly. Teach me to see others as You see them. When I feel misunderstood, give me the grace to seek understanding. When I feel hurt, give me the strength to forgive. When I am afraid to take the first step, remind me that love is always worth it.

You are the Prince of Peace. Fill me with Your peace, so that wherever I go, I may bring Your love.
