The Father knows even before we Ask
Matthew 6:7-15

Jesus, you know my heart.

When you speak about prayer, it feels like you are looking right at me. You see the way I sometimes struggle to find the right words. You know how I wonder if I am praying the way I should. But then you say something so simple, so beautiful— “Your Father knows what you need even before you ask Him.”

These words feel like love. They tell me I don’t have to beg or explain myself. I don’t have to worry if I am saying too little or too much. Before I even open my mouth, my Father already knows. Before I can put my feelings into words, He has already understood.

Jesus, this changes everything. It means I can come to prayer just as I am. I don’t have to perform. I don’t have to impress. I don’t have to try so hard. I can simply be with my Father, the way you were always with Him.

You prayed, not because the Father didn’t know, but because you loved Him. You prayed because you wanted to be close to Him. Teach me to pray like that. Teach me to love prayer, not as a way to get things, but as a way to be with the One who already holds my life in His hands.

If He knows what I need, then I can rest. I don’t have to be afraid of the future. I don’t have to carry everything alone. I don’t have to worry about saying the perfect prayer. I just have to come, like a child, and let my heart be known.

Jesus, I want to trust like you. I want to love like you. I want to pray like you. Hold me close and teach me to rest in the love of the Father, the way you always did.
