You did it to ME

You did it to ME

Lord Jesus, when you speak of the final judgment, you paint a picture that is simple yet so full of meaning. You show a King separating people like a shepherd separates sheep from goats. But you do not ask about grand achievements or great knowledge. You ask about love. You ask about the little thing such as, feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, welcoming the stranger, clothing the naked, caring for the sick, visiting the prisoner. You tell us that whenever we do these things for someone in need, we do them for you.

Lord, it is easy to think of you in prayer, in the moments of reflection, in the beauty of a church. But you remind me that you are also there in the tired face of a hungry child, in the weary eyes of a lonely old man, in the trembling hands of the sick, in the silent pain of the forgotten. You are hidden in those who struggle. And every act of kindness given to them is an act of love given to you.

Help me, Lord, to see you more clearly in the people I meet. Teach me to love in a way that does not count the cost. Let my hands be your hands, bringing comfort and hope. Let my eyes be your eyes, seeing with compassion. Let my heart be your heart, always ready to love. Not just in moments that feel holy but in the ordinary, in the unnoticed, in the ones the world forgets.

Lord, when my own heart grows tired or distracted, remind me of your words. Whisper to me again—whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do to me. Let these words take root in me. Let them shape my thoughts, my choices, my very being. Because in the end, all that matters is love. And love is always you.
