Lord Jesus, I come before You with a heart that longs to see as You see. You spoke of the blind leading the blind, and I realize how often I walk in darkness without even knowing it. I judge, I speak, I act, and yet I do not always see clearly. My vision is clouded by my own weaknesses, my own limited understanding. But You, Lord, are the Light. You see with truth, with love, with mercy. Open my eyes, Lord. Let me see myself as You see me. Let me see others as You see them.
You remind me to remove the wooden beam from my own eye before I try to take out the splinter from my brother’s eye. How gentle yet firm Your words are. You do not condemn me, but You invite me to look within. Not with guilt, not with shame, but with a heart willing to be transformed. Lord, show me the places in my heart where pride and self-righteousness have taken root. Show me where I have been too quick to judge, too slow to understand, too blind to love. You do not ask me to be perfect before I help others. You ask me to be honest, to be humble, to let Your light first purify my own heart.
You teach that a good tree bears good fruit. Lord, I want my life to bear good fruit, fruit that nourishes, fruit that heals, fruit that brings joy. But I know that the fruit comes from the roots. If my heart is filled with Your love, then love will flow from me. If my heart is filled with peace, then peace will flow from me. But if my heart is restless, angry, or bitter, then no matter what I say or do, my words and actions will carry that same spirit. Lord, plant in me the seeds of goodness. Water them with Your grace. Let Your Spirit be the lifeblood that flows within me, so that when I speak, when I act, when I give, it is You who are seen, not me.
Jesus, You are the Master. You see clearly, You love fully, You give without holding back. Teach me to follow You in this way. Teach me to be patient, to be gentle, to be a presence of peace. When I am tempted to correct others, let me first turn to You and ask, “Lord, what are You teaching me through this?” When I see flaws in others, let me remember that I too am on the journey, that I too am learning, that I too need Your mercy every single day.
Lord, You are the wellspring of wisdom, the source of all goodness. Keep my heart close to Yours. Let me not walk in blindness, but in the clear light of Your truth. Let my words be life-giving. Let my presence be a reflection of Your love. And above all, let my heart remain open, always ready to be shaped by You, always ready to see as You see.
Amen.
