Jesus, I see You sitting there, surrounded by little children. They come running to You, their eyes full of wonder, their hands reaching out, their laughter ringing in the air. They don’t hesitate. They don’t stop to wonder if they are worthy. They just come—because they know they belong to You.
And I watch You, Jesus. You welcome them, You smile, You touch their heads, You bless them. You don’t ask them to prove themselves. You don’t measure their worth by their achievements. You simply receive them, just as they are.
Jesus, this is what I long to understand—the heart of a child. A heart that trusts. A heart that is not afraid to come close. A heart that knows it is loved.
So often, I complicate things. I think I need to be better, wiser, holier before I can truly come to You. But here You are, telling me that Your kingdom belongs to the childlike. Not to the perfect. Not to the strong. But to those who simply receive Your love without fear.
Jesus, teach me this kind of trust. Teach me to let go of the weight of my own expectations. To stand before You without pretense, without fear, without the need to prove anything. I don’t want to hold back anymore. I just want to be near You.
Help me, Lord, to live with a child’s heart—one that finds joy in simple things, one that does not carry yesterday’s burdens into today, one that knows that in Your arms, I am always safe.
And when I see others, let me welcome them the way You do. Let my hands bless, not judge. Let my words lift up, not push down. Let my heart be open, like Yours, so that everyone I meet may feel a little closer to heaven.
Jesus, make me more like You.
